People paid their respects at a makeshift memorial outside the Massereene Barracks in Antrim, Northern Ireland. Hundreds of flowers were left at the spot where two off-duty British soldiers were shot and killed on March 7 by dissident IRA gunmen. The attack seriously wounded two other soldiers and two deliverymen, who survived follow-up volleys of automatic fire as they lay sprawled on the road outside the base's main gate.
