Ethnic Malay protesters take cover as riot police fire tear gas toward them during a protest in Kuala Lumpur on March 7, 2009. Malayian police fired teargas to disperse at least 5000 thousand ethnic Malays who marched to the national palace to protest the use of English language in local school. The protesters planned to march to the royal palace to ask the king to intervene in the row over schools teaching science and maths in English rather than in the Malay language.
