Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou, middle, and Buddhist monks pray during the memorial ceremony Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, in Taipei, Taiwan, of those killed in the "2.28 Incident", a grassroots uprising against Nationalist government that began on Feb. 28, 1947. Ma on Saturday blamed corruption in his own party for the 1947 massacre when thousands of native islanders were killed by Nationalist forces.
