DTN News - SOMALIA ~ ORDER OUT OF CHAOS: Somalia's President Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed Inspects Somali National Army (SNA) Soldiers In Mogadishu

(NSI News Source Info) TORONTO, Canada - March 17, 2012: Somalia's President Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed  inspects Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers during an exercise as part of a passing-out ceremony in Mogadishu, in this handout photograph taken March 17, 2012 and released by the African Union-United Nations Information Support Team. 

The exercise marked the conclusion of a 10-week advanced training course conducted by the military component of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM). 630 troops from different brigades of the SNA were taught and mentored on leadership skills, weapons handling field military tactics during the two and a half month course and will now deploy back to their units.

Thousands of Somalis gathered at a militant-organized demonstration on the outskirts of Mogadishu on Monday in support of the merger of the Somali militant group al-Shabab with al-Qaida, which was announced last week by al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahri.
