(NSI News Source Info) ASHGABAT - December 11, 2010: The leaders of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkmenistan on Saturday agreed to move forward with a complicated and risky plan to build a natural gas pipeline across rugged territory plagued by war and terrorism.
The pipeline, which would terminate in India, would bring huge amounts of gas to underdeveloped regions and could earn impoverished Afghanistan hundreds of millions of dollars in transit fees.
The route for the 1,700-kilometer TAPI pipeline from gas-rich Turkmenistan would cross Afghanistan’s Kandahar Province, where the Taliban and international forces are locked in battle, as well as some of Pakistan’s unruly tribal areas.

The company delivered the first three of 21 F-15Ks it is producing under the Next Fighter II contract to the ROKAF in September. The remaining 15 aircraft will be delivered through March 2012.

(N61340-11-D-1004); Fidelity Technologies Corp., Reading, Pa. (N61340-11-D-1005); L-3 Link Simulation & Training Div., Arlington, Texas (N61340-11-D-1006); and LB&B Associates, Inc., Columbia, Md. (N61340-11-D-1007), are each being awarded indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity multiple award contracts for fielded training systems support services in support of over 900 training simulators for the Navy, Army, Air Force, and the governments of Kuwait and Malaysia under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Services to be provided include operations and maintenance support, instruction, training device modifications, training device relocations, training system management, in-service engineering office support, spares/product support, and other related trainer support services. Many others were injured in the ensuing stampede while some of the injured were reported to have been hurt by metal pellets. According to official sources, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) has been recovered from a metal dustbin at the Varanasi blast site.

"All of the fires were officially extinguished as of midnight," Mickey Rosenfeld, a police spokesman, said on Monday morning.
Dozens of nations had sent firefighting equipment and helped in the effort to put out the four-day fire, which in addition to causing casualties, scorched 50 square kilometres of woodland, destroyed millions of trees, and an estimated dozens of homes.
