(NSI News Source Info) TORONTO, Canada - January 14, 2016: Raytheon Co., McKinney, Texas, was awarded a $13,366,719 modification (P00041) to contract W56HZV-12-C-0046 for nine turrets for the Marine Corps Light Armored Vehicle anti-tank variant.  

Work will be performed in McKinney, Texas, with an estimated completion date of July 30, 2018.  Fiscal 2016 other procurement (Army) funds in the amount of $13,366,719 were obligated at the time of the award.  

Army Contracting Command, Warren, Michigan, is the contracting activity.

SUMMARY

The TOW 2A, TOW 2B Aero and TOW Bunker Buster missiles can be fired from all TOW launchers – including the Improved Target Acquisition Systems (ITAS), Stryker anti-tank guided missile vehicle (modified ITAS) and Bradley Fighting Vehicles (Improved Bradley Acquisition Subsystem).

With its extended range performance, the TOW Weapon System is the long-range precision, heavy anti-tank and assault weapon system of choice for the U.S. Army Stryker, Bradley Fighting Vehicle, ITAS High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle and Light Armored Vehicle-Anti-tank platforms. The TOW weapon system will be in service with the U.S. military beyond 2050.

The weapon system is deployed with more than 40 international armed forces and integrated on more than 15,000 ground, vehicle and helicopter platforms. TOW is also the preferred heavy assault anti-armor weapon system for NATO, coalition, United Nations and peacekeeping operations worldwide.

Work will be performed in Keyser, West Virginia (42.3 percent); Santa Clarita, California (34.6 percent); and Hillsboro, Oregon (23.1 percent), and is expected to be completed in December 2017. 

Fiscal 2015 missile procurement (Air Force) and weapons procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $11,404,620 are being obligated on this award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. 

This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1). This contract combines purchases for the Air Force ($16,755,556; 64.44 percent) and Navy $9,244,444; 35.56 percent).

(NSI News Source Info) TORONTO, Canada – March 2, 2012: Raytheon Co., Space and Airborne Systems, Goleta, Calif., is being awarded a $77,267,880 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-09-C-0052) to exercise an option for 89 full rate production Lot 14 AN/ALR-67(V)3 radar warning receivers, and nine countermeasure signal processor weapons replacement assemblies. 

The AN/ALR-67(V)3 enhances pilot situational awareness by providing accurate identification, lethality, and azimuth displays of hostile and friendly emitters.  It also controls the electronic warfare data bus and interfaces with electronic warfare systems, the onboard radar, airborne mission computer, and the F/A-18 weapon systems. 

Work will be performed in Forest, Miss. (34 percent); Lansdale, Pa. (18 percent); Goleta, Calif. (17 percent); Chatsworth, Calif. (11 percent); San Diego, Calif. (10 percent); Sydney, Australia (4 percent); Milwaukie, Ore. (3 percent); and McKinney, Texas (3 percent).

The Phalanx Close-In Weapon System is an integral element of the fleet defense in-depth concept and the Ship Self-Defense Program. Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a $50 million contract to deliver 50 AAS-44C(V) Multi-Spectral Targeting Systems for use on the U.S. Navy's MH-60R and MH-60S helicopters.

This airborne forward looking infrared targeting system provides video imagery that helps soldiers, intelligence analysts and commanders in the field make critical operating decisions. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2011 and end in 2012.

"This system provides critical information to U.S. and coalition forces," said Capt. Dean Peters, U.S. Navy program executive officer for PMA-299. "The quality of its day and night environment imagery is making a difference in the lives of our troops."

A variant of Raytheon's Multi-Spectral Targeting System deployed with U.S. rapid response forces, the AAS-44C(V) employs a full-motion video camera for long-range surveillance and high-altitude acquisition, tracking and laser designation from a manned or unmanned aircraft. In October 2008, C4ISR Journal ranked the sensor among the top 25 devices making "the biggest difference on the battlefield."

"Our solid partnership with the U.S. Navy has enabled us to develop this unique system to meet defense requirements," said Tim Carey, vice president, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems. "This electro-optical infrared system offers proven reliability and capability that support the warfighter in operations around the world."

Raytheon developed the system for use on the U.S. Navy's MH-60R and MH-60S rotary-wing platforms. The company also supplies it to military forces throughout the world.

Currently, Raytheon is pursuing foreign military sales of its MTS family of sensor solutions with the naval forces of Australia and India. The MTS sensor family recently marked more than 1 million hours of operational flight time.

(NSI News Source Info) MCKINNEY, Texas, - February 4, 2011: Boeing has awarded Raytheon Company (NYSE:RTN - News) a low rate initial production contract to develop six long-range, multimission maritime and overland surveillance radars plus spares for its P-8A Poseidon aircraft.

"Our APY-10 radar will provide Boeing with advanced technology built on generations of successful Raytheon radar systems," saidTim Carey, vice president for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems. (NSI News Source Info) TEWKSBURY, Mass., - January 26, 2011: The U.S. Navy achieved a critical milestone with the successful testing of the Next Generation Navigation System (NAVDDX) produced by Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN), prime contractor for mission systems equipment for the DDG 1000-class destroyer.

NAVDDX is a modern open architecture solution for distributing navigation and high-precision time data to ship mission systems. The open architecture design provides the flexibility and commonality to be easily integrated into the DDG 1000 class and other ship platforms, including new construction and modernization programs.

System development was a highly successful joint effort between Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) and the U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific, San Diego, Calif., through a private party sales agreement.

"This is another example of the rigorous testing strategy that is built into the DDG 1000 development program," said Raytheon IDS' Bill Marcley, vice president of Total Ship Mission Systems and DDG 1000 program manager. "With each milestone, we continue our progress toward delivering proven and reliable capabilities to the sailors of the U.S. Navy fleet."

The DDG 1000-class destroyer is the latest evolution in warfighting technology for surface combatant ships, providing unmatched capability to the U.S. Navy. The DDG 1000-class destroyer's advancements can be incorporated into future and modernized platforms. The benefits of DDG 1000's systems reuse potential across the fleet are already being realized, including the application of the Dual Band Radar for the new Ford-class aircraft carrier (CVN 78) as well as the application of the Total Ship Computing Environment infrastructure for the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and USS San Antonio (LPD 17) technology refresh efforts. The systems and software engineering approach used on DDG 1000 yields an open architecture well suited for capability enhancements to counter emerging threats.

(NSI News Source Info) TEWKSBURY, Mass., - January 26, 2011: Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has received a $145 million Foreign Military Sales production contract for Patriot Guidance Enhanced Missiles – Tactical (GEM-T) to augment Kuwait's air and missile defense.

The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., issued the contract to complement Kuwait's Configuration-3 radar system upgrade work already underway at Raytheon.

"This new GEM-T missile production contract highlights the efforts by Kuwait Air Defense to maintain readiness and effectiveness of the Patriot Air and Missile System to counter evolving regional threats," said Sanjay Kapoor, vice president of Patriot Programs at Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). "We continue to modernize the Patriot system and are committed to providing Kuwait and our 11 other partner nations globally with increased system reliability and reduced life-cycle costs."

Work under this contract will be performed by Raytheon IDS at the Integrated Air Defense Center in Andover, Mass.

Raytheon IDS is the prime contractor for both domestic and international Patriot Air and Missile Defense Systems and is the system integrator for Patriot Advanced Capability-3 missiles.
