DTN News - DEFENSE NEWS: India, Russia Sign Deal For Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft....NSI News Source Info # 1365(NSI News Source Info) NEW DELHI, India - December 21, 2010: New Delhi, Dec 21 (PTI) Taking defence cooperation to a new level, India and Russia today signed a deal for design and development of advanced fifth generation fighter aircraft (FGFA) estimated to cost USD 295 million, the first such venture between them.
The contract envisages joint development of preliminary design contract (PDC) for the advanced fighter jet and will involve Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) from India and the Sukhoi Design Bureau and Rosoboronexport on the Russian side.
