Sylvain Chavanel of France won the third stage of the Paris-Nice bicycle race in Vichy, beating Juan Antonio Flecha of Spain at the finish line. Chavanel also took the overall lead in the stage race where the winner is the rider with the least elapsed time over a week of racing.
